Space, which is ordinarily regarded as nothingness, may, in fact, be our own consciousness - sensed in the form of an internal dimension; and human awe at the vastness of space may be man's astonishment at himself. We reconsider our position as "insignificant germs on a minute ball of rock, attached to minor star on the outer fringe of one of the smaller galaxies."
